Author Guidelines
Authors are kindly requested to read and follow the submission guidelines below carefully. Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision before peer review.
A. General Requirements
The minimum requirements for manuscripts submitted to AEP journals are:
Manuscripts must be written in English, using either English (USA) or English (UK) consistently throughout the manuscript.
The manuscript should be at least 6 pages in length.
Authors should use a reference management tool such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote, or format references manually using the IEEE citation and reference style.
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official AEP Paper Template.
B. Structure of the Manuscript
Authors are encouraged to organize their manuscripts according to the following structure:
Title: The title should clearly describe the research aim, methodology or model, and main objective. Avoid acronyms and abbreviations in the title whenever possible.
Abstract: The abstract should contain 100–500 words and should not include citations or references.
Section Structure: Authors are encouraged to organize their research papers using the following structure:
Introduction
Methodology
Results and Discussion
Conclusion
References: Manuscripts should contain at least 40 references, with at least 60% being journal articles. References should be current and, where appropriate, primarily published within the previous five years.

C. Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to confirm compliance with all of the following requirements. Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors.
The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.
The manuscript has been prepared using the official AEP Paper Template.
The submission file is provided in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format and does not exceed the 3 MB file-size limit.
The manuscript contains at least 40 references, including at least 24 journal references published within the previous five years, where appropriate. Journal references should preferably be sourced from recognized scholarly databases such as IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, or Scopus.
References and in-text citations follow the IEEE style consistently.
The manuscript has been carefully checked for English language, formatting, figures, tables, citations, and references before submission.
D. Open Access and Copyright Notice
The Journal of Robotics Research (JRR) is an open access journal. All published articles are freely and immediately accessible online without subscription or access fees.
Authors retain the copyright of their published work and grant the journal the right of first publication. All articles published by JRR are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
The CC BY-SA 4.0 license permits others to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, and reuse the full text of published articles. It also permits others to remix, adapt, and build upon the published material, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and the source of publication.
Any adapted, remixed, or derivative work must be distributed under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license.
Authors may enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work, such as posting it in an institutional repository or including it in a book, provided that the initial publication in JRR is properly acknowledged.

E. Publication and Ethical Requirements
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original, accurately reported, and ethically conducted. Manuscripts must comply with the journal's publication ethics and peer-review policies.
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal.
The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
This journal charges the following author fees.
Article Publication Fee (APF): $ 400 (USD) (All papers will be published free of charge during 2026)
Manuscript Withdrawal Policy
By submitting a manuscript to this journal, the corresponding author confirms that all co-authors agree to the submission and to the journal's editorial policies.
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript only before the peer-review process begins. Once the manuscript has entered peer review, withdrawal requests will be considered only under exceptional circumstances and are subject to the Editor-in-Chief's approval. Authors are not permitted to withdraw a manuscript solely to submit it to another journal after the peer-review process has commenced or been completed.
If authors withdraw a manuscript without editorial approval after peer review has begun, the journal reserves the right to reject future submissions from the authors and to take appropriate editorial action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Post-Publication Article Withdrawal Policy
Once an article has been published, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record and cannot be withdrawn at the request of the author(s) for personal, academic, or professional reasons. Requests for withdrawal, retraction, or removal of published articles will only be considered in exceptional circumstances involving significant ethical, legal, or scientific concerns, including but not limited to plagiarism, fraudulent data, major errors affecting the validity of the findings, or violations of publication ethics. Any such requests will be evaluated by the Editorial Board in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and internationally recognized best practices. The journal reserves the right to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record and may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when appropriate.
